This past weekend was quite the challenge for me. Being in Pennsylvania, the deluge of snow began Friday night and continued into Saturday afternoon. This meant staying in and relaxing, right?

Snow, snow and more snow in our little patio

Well, let’s just say that giving Liliana her bethanechol 4 times a day interferes with my sleep schedule. Granted, my sleep schedule is already interrupted by Liliana’s feedings every 3 hours ( at the hours of 3, 6, 9 and 12) but couple that with her bethanechol at the hours of 5 and 11, I’m not getting as much rested sleep as I used to. Suffice to say, I was a bit cranky this past weekend.

In any case, Liliana seems to be doing slightly better with the bethanechol. There have been several instances when she’d try to throw up and we were able to stop her from doing so by blowing in her face to make her swallow whatever was coming up. She still throws up every now and then, but I do think this medicine is helping her keep some of her milk down.

We have our follow-up appointment with the GI doctor next week, so I guess we’ll see if we should continue to use the omeprazole (Prilosec) or if we should just go on with only the bethanechol.

It’s frustrating to have to do all of these doctor appointments but what can you do? You want your children to be happy and healthy, and it seems like there is no limit to how far a parent will go to achieve that.
