We recently changed Liliana’s formula back to Good Start after trying Elecare for a month per doctor’s orders. The Elecare did not help at all with her reflux and we think it exacerbated the problem by adding extra air into her stomach whenever we fed her. Also, it did not dissolve completely when we mixed it, so there always was a sediment in her formula bottles that oftentimes made it hard to clean out the syringe and extension tubing used for her NG feeds.
There have already been a few changes with going back to our usual formula:
- She gains weight a little more easily.
- She’s sleeping better at night, and not waking up every 2-3 hours crying.
- We think her digestion actually works better with Good Start.
Along with changing the formula, we’ve been keeping Liliana in her back brace for as long as possible and keeping it tight. It does affect her reflux because of the added pressure on her stomach; it’s sometimes frustrating during her feedings because she cries and becomes hard to handle.

Way to go Lilliana!! Glad to here she has had some weight gain and better sleep with the new forumla. Hope things are going well with the pregnancy. Hope Lilliana continues on the up & up, she’s doing good with the walking!
